2007 GOLF DAY
British Society of Baking Golf Day returns to The Belfry
The British Society of
Baking are delighted that their annual golf day will again be held at the prestigious De
Vere Belfry, playing over the Brabazon Course.
The Brabazon is regarded throughout the world as a great championship course. It is a
relatively new course in comparison to other courses in the same league, but has built up
some memorable feats in golfing history in such a short time.
It has hosted the Ryder Cup an unprecedented four times; it is the home of the British
Masters and the PGA Seniors Championship. It is a course that every golfer aspires to
play, whether you are a single figure handicap player or a keen high handicapper. To
follow the steps of world greats such as Faldo, Ballesteros and Woods, is something that
sends a tingle down your spine.
The Brabazon is a tough course that boasts some of the best holes in the world.
Puratos who will be
giving away some worthwhile prizes for any golfer catching the green in one will sponsor
the famous 10th hole that has seen so much drama during Ryder Cup matches this year.
Anybody who has had anything to do with golf will recognise the 18 th hole where more tears have been shed in glory or in sadness during all the competitions that have been held over the years.
It is a tough par 4 in
which you have to carry over water twice. This year Danisco will be sponsoring this hole
offering prizes for anyone making the green in two.
The Belfry is centrally located in the West Midlands that is easy to find, from junction 9 off the M42.
The date of the event is Thursday 3 May 2007 commencing at 1.30pm. The format will the same as last year, a shotgun start Teams of four all starting and finishing together at different holes.
Prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive, Individual and team will be up for grabs.
The cost of the day
will be £115 per person that includes a three-course meal and a golfers pack before you
start.
We still have
opportunities for hole sponsorship that at a cost of £100, will give you the opportunity
to display your company banner. (Further details from Keith Houliston)
You do not require to be a member of the BSB to participate and if you are not a golfer you are welcome to the evening event that will include a three-course meal, the prize giving ceremony and an opportunity to network with colleagues and acquaintances in the Baking Industry.
