Conferences and Events

The Society normally holds two Conferences per year to which members can bring bring guests, as well as other events such as conference and exhibition dinners. Current event details follow.

Foodex Exhibition, 25 – 27th March, 2012, National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham For information on exhibiting and visiting Foodex 2012 log on to www.foodex.co.uk. In addition to the ingredients, equipment, products  and services at Foodex 2012, do not miss the Live Events. 

Signature Masterclasses including:

  • David Lesniak & David Muniz - ‘The Art of the Tarts - launching a new bakery business from scratch'
  • Stephen Hallam - Pork Pie Masterclass - 'Melton Mowbray Pork Pies with Dickinson & Morris'
Plenary sessions with Camden BRI:

 Exhibition Stand The BSB will have a small stand at this exhibition, number N329, to meet current and potential new members, and to highlight some of the benefits of being a member of the British Society of Baking.

Exhibition Dinner Following our very successful dinner at BIE2010, we will once again be hosting an Exhibition Dinner in conjunction with Foodex 2012 on Monday 26 th March. The venue is, as previously, the Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club and will be a four course dinner, with wine and after dinner entertainment. There are also be a number of rooms available inconjunction with the dinner at a preferential rate for members and guests who require them. This is an opportunity to visit the exbibition, enjoy an excellent dinner and network with like minded people in the industry.

BSB Spring Conference, Monday 11th and Tuesday 12 th April, Tameside College,  Ashton Under Lyne Our spring conference was very successful indeed, with excellent speakers and presentations, a fantastic venue and superb participation from the Tameside College staff and students. The conference was reported fully in our 2011  conference proceedings booklet, which also includes the autumn conference proceedings. Please also see a link below to a slide show of photographs from the conference. A first class report on the conference also appeared in the 16 th of May issue of the British Baker.

BSB Autumn Conference, Tuesday 4th & Wednesday 5th October, Ardencote Manor Hotel The 2011 autumn conference was, like the spring conference, very successful indeed,  being a mixture of very valuable technical presentations, together with interesting and informative practical ones.

2011 Conference Proceedings Booklet A full colour conference proceedings booklet covering the spring and autumn conferences has been produced. The booklets were posted to members in the 2nd week of January.  Please let our Secretary know if you have not received a copy.

BSB 2012 Autumn Conference The 2012 BSB autumn conference will be held on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd October at the Ardencote Manor Hotel, Warwick. An excellent list of topic and speakers are currently being considered and the full programme will be announced shortly.
